One of the regions that is part of the "Eroica" viticulture movement in Italy, with slopes reaching up to 90%. Terraces are the key to grape cultivation, found inland and near the sea, where small-scale winemakers extract the essence of a territory that unites the sea and the land. Two areas represent Liguria: the Riviera di Levante, which extends to neighboring Tuscany, is influenced by the most widely used white grape varieties, such as Vermentino. Among the native varieties, Albarola and Pigato stand out, producing wines of great character. The Riviera di Ponente, stylistically closer to Piedmont, produces Rossese and Ciliegiolo grapes that are similar in color and aroma to the renowned Nebbiolo.
