Description

Charles Heidsieck's Brut Millésimé Champagne is one of the most prestigious labels from the historic Reims house. Made with a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of the region's most celebrated and renowned crus, it is a Champagne of great aromatic richness, combined with a pleasant mineral freshness. The long aging process, which involves the bottles resting on the lees for nine years in ancient underground chalk quarries, contributes to a complexity and depth of flavor that only great labels can deliver.

The grapes are of the highest quality and come from the renowned crus of Ay, Verzy, Tauxières, Rilly, Avernais, Louvois, and Ambonnay for the Pinot Noir, and from Le-Mesnil, Oger, and Vertus for the Chardonnay. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The vins clairs age in stainless steel for several months before the final blending. The second fermentation takes place according to the Méthode Champenoise, and the bottles age sur lattes for nine years before disgorging.

Tasting notes

To the eye, a deep golden hue with light green reflections, evoking the image of the sun playing on the leaves.
On the nose, floral notes of violet and acacia lead to deeper notes of blood orange and finally a hint of Mediterranean scrub.
Swirled in the glass, fruity notes (fresh pineapple, apricot, fig, date) appear with a pronounced intensity.
On the palate, the remarkable texture is the special signature of Blanc des Millénaires. Starting with a salty, chalky texture, the palate moves to creamy notes of nougat, citrus, and whipped cream, with a rounded and generous finish, almost luminous with toasted accents.
