Angelo, together with the constant support of his wife Lucia and children Gaia, Rossana, and Giovanni, has succeeded in establishing the Gaja winery worldwide, thanks to a commitment and vision that have literally shaped not only Barbaresco and Nebbiolo wines, but the entire wine market in recent decades. The Gaja winery, located in the historic center of Barbaresco, creates wines that have become cult classics for every wine enthusiast.
Red and white wines that demonstrate exquisite class and unique longevity. Wines that combine tradition and modernity like perhaps no other, and that reveal their natural elegance in the glass.
With over 92 hectares of estate-owned vineyards managed with full respect for nature and the ecosystem, the winery averages around 350,000 bottles per year, including both distinctive red wines and excellent white wines. Thanks to the winery's cohesive family management—the entire family is involved in the supply chain—Gaja wines have become legendary: just think that the 1985 Barbaresco Gaja was named by Wine Spectator as the best wine ever produced in Italy.
Gaja wines have a unique and unmistakable style, and since the mid-1990s, the Gaja winery's fame has spread from Piedmont to Tuscany, thanks in part to the ambitious Ca' Marcanda project: here, Bordeaux-style wines such as “Promis,” “Magari,” and “Camarcanda” are born, characterized by a personality comparable to the greatest Barbarescos.
