Every year since its founding, the House of Krug has created a new edition of Krug Grande Cuvée to offer the most generous expression of Champagne. This bottle is part of the 169th Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée, a blend of 146 wines selected from 11 different vintages. The youngest is from 2013, while the oldest is from 2000. A seven-year aging period in Krug's cellars gives this edition remarkable expression and elegance. Each glass is the result of over 20 years of artisanal excellence. The 169th Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée was created from the 2013 harvest. The season began with a seemingly endless winter, followed by a cool, rainy spring. Fortunately, the summer proved warm and sunny, albeit punctuated by hailstorms that did not spare the vineyards. The year's wines were complete, expressive, and full of flavor. To create this Edition, the Cellar Master sought to accentuate the year's fullness and marvelous aromatic elegance with wines from different plots and 10 different vintages. The care lavished on the vineyards and Krug's attention to the unique properties of each terroir have enabled the remarkable expressiveness of this Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée. In total, reserve wines from the House's extensive collection make up 40% of the final blend, contributing the breadth and roundness essential to each edition of Krug Grande Cuvée.
