Description

Made exclusively from grapes from the five Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs, Taittinger's Comtes de Champagne is produced only in vintages deemed exceptional. The terroir from which it originates is nothing short of exceptional: a mere 20 km of strip characterized by a highly calcareous matrix, which imparts minerality, rare aromatic finesse, and incredible power. A 100% Chardonnay Champagne, made exclusively from the first pressing, to which is added 5% reserve wines previously aged for four months in new oak barrels, a third of which are renewed annually for greater toasting. The wine is then aged for at least 10 years in the estate's deep chalk cellars, after which a Champagne of uncommon qualities will be revealed to the world, perfectly accessible today but easily enjoyed for decades to come.

Tasting notes

A very intense straw yellow color with subtle emerald highlights, it displays a creamy and delicate effervescence. On the nose, it releases intense notes of licorice, gingerbread, and brioche, followed by mandarin and ripe yellow peach, along with toasted almond notes. The palate is broad, captivating, and powerful, enveloping with fruity aftertaste, perfectly balanced by a fresh, savory core that leads to a simply exceptional finish.

Cellar

"Having our name on a bottle implies responsibility and rigorous standards at all times. This signature represents both the savoir-faire of the past and a commitment to the future."

The Taittinger family has been running the Champagne House for nearly a century. Their goal has always been the pursuit of excellence. "Having our family name on a bottle places demands and responsibilities on every moment. The name on the bottle conveys both the skills and knowledge of the past and a commitment to the future." Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger has embodied this commitment for 40 years and today shares it with his son Clovis and daughter Vitalie, both of whom work alongside him in the day-to-day running of the Champagne House. Together, they form a very close-knit and complementary family trio.
