Description

Born from the vineyards of the historic Orvieto DOC Classico area in Umbria, to interpret the elegance and typicality of a region strongly suited to the production of white wines.
The Procanico and Grechetto grapes were harvested separately and transferred to the cellar for destemming and gentle pressing. The must was chilled to 10°C to promote natural clarification. It then went into stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature no higher than 18°C. The wine was then aged in stainless steel tanks at 10°C until bottling.

Tasting notes

Campogrande has a straw yellow color. The nose is intense, with pleasant fruity notes of Golden Delicious apple and Williams pear, blending with delicate hints of citrus zest. On the palate, it is smooth and fresh, with a savory finish and a fruity aftertaste.

Cellar

Atop a high Tuscan hill, not far from Siena and Perugia, lies the ancient town of Cortona. On one side, the spacious plain; on the other, the hill and the village. This is the view from the Santa Cristina winery, founded in 2006 to confirm and renew the tradition of its namesake wine, over 70 years after its first vintage. Over time, Santa Cristina has become a point of reference for industry experts and beyond, thanks to an unwavering commitment to quality. Just like a good story, it is a timeless Tuscan classic with a contemporary twist. The constant care taken in tending the vineyards and working in the cellar has been the driving force behind continuous innovation and the exploration of native and international varieties, resulting in wines that are distinct yet distinguished by the same artisanal style, the fruit of an unbreakable bond between vineyard, terroir, and human labor.

The Santa Cristina Winery, designed by the Florence-based Hydea studio, features a modern architectural structure conceived with minimal environmental impact and respect for the surrounding landscape. The winery takes its name from the Santa Cristina red wine, a historic wine that has been the company's flagship for over 70 years. The structure is designed to accompany the grapes from the vineyard through the individual stages of fermentation, aging, bottling, and packaging. Advanced technology, combined with a careful and continuous pursuit of quality, strengthen and fortify the ancient tradition and love for the land.
