Description

At Tenuta Monteloro, Riesling Renano finds a unique expression, characterized by great identity and pleasantness. The vineyards, situated on clayey, calcareous soils with a good persistence of gravel, give the wine great complexity. The name Mezzobraccio (Mezzobraccio) derives from an ancient Florentine unit of measurement used in rural areas for small plots of land, derived from the more well-known Braccio Fiorentino (Florentine arm).

Tasting notes

Mezzo Braccio displays a straw yellow color. On the nose, floral aromas reminiscent of elderberry and white flowers combine with green notes of boxwood and characteristic flint sensations; sweet hints of candied apricot complete the complex bouquet. On the palate, it stands out for its distinctive smoothness, savory flavor, and body, supported by a pronounced minerality.

Cellar

Tenuta Monteloro is located in the foothills of the Apennines behind Fiesole, just outside Florence, at an average altitude of 500 meters above sea level. It extends across 600 hectares, of which 94 are currently planted with vineyards. This unique area is ideal for growing Riesling and Pinot Blanc, characterized by a cool climate year-round and mineral-rich soil. It is an ideal terroir in Tuscany for aromatic white wines.

It is said that this unique landscape, of woods and small dirt roads, was the inspiration for Dante's journey in the Divine Comedy, to which the fantastic creatures with the body of a triton and the wings of a dragon pay homage, forming the "M" of Tenuta Monteloro.
