Considered one of the finest Spanish brandies and produced by a company founded in 1781, initially a sherry producer, this product is a tribute to Cardinal Mendoza, a real historical figure. Born in Guadalajara, he played a key role in the reconquest of the kingdom of Granada, as well as in Christopher Columbus's expedition, and for these very reasons the company chose to dedicate this brandy to him. Aged in oak barrels that previously held sherry, using the Solera method, it is an excellent product for those who want to get into the category. Educational and masterfully interpreted, it also offers an excellent quality/price ratio, which is a plus these days!
A deep, dark mahogany color, it presents a rich and expansive bouquet on the nose, with distinct aromas of coffee beans, cinnamon, cloves, and sweet fruity sensations of cherry and plum jam, along with subtle hints of cocoa. The palate is extraordinarily delicate and smooth, rich with toasted hazelnut notes and a touch of molasses, perfectly balanced between alcohol and roundness, leading to a long finish of spicy and toasted notes.
