This spirit is based on rum distilled in Trinidad and Tobago, to which 11 spices are subsequently added, including cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. It is aged for 12 to 24 months, after which the spices are added. The name derives from the legendary sea monster that attacked passing ships in the ocean.
