Letrari, a family rooted in the very history of Trentino wine. Active since 1647 in Borghetto d'Avio, on the banks of the Adige River, they began as river raftsmen, then as traders and astute agricultural innovators. With Leonello Letrari, they immediately established themselves on the wine scene. It is thanks to him that, in the immediate postwar period, the wines of the Dolomites acquired character and prestige beyond the region's borders. It was he who created the first blends and, in the 1960s, began producing fine sparkling wines. Then, in 1976, together with his wife Maria Vittoria, he founded the current family winery.
Tradition and innovation are our company's credo, consistently applied with modern agronomic practices, with the work and dedication of the new generations.
Leonello's same passion today also inspires the commitment of his daughter Lucia (a winemaker like her father), who has been entrusted with the company's major responsibilities.
Shaped by the particular terroir and microclimate of the Vallagarina—an environment characterized by the Adige River and influenced by the Ora del Garda wind, which creates a unique Mediterranean microclimate here—23 different types of quality wine with strong varietal character are produced.
The area's temperate climate also allows for a limited and select production of extra virgin olive oil with an exceptionally fruity character. The Letrari farm, with its 23 hectares of vineyards spread across various locations in the Vallagarina, is located in a modern and functional winery in Rovereto, faithful to the rural architecture of Trentino and surrounded by a vast garden of Mediterranean species.
It is open to visitors year-round and offers tourists the opportunity to learn the "secrets of the art" by retracing the steps of transforming grapes into wine. Guided group tours are available by reservation, with the option of tastings, lunch, and a tour of the vineyards.
