Description

A grape variety that has been rooted in the clay and tuff soils of the Bardano hill since ancient times. Harvested late by hand in small crates, it produces a structured, minerally, and pleasantly smooth wine that ages sur lies for six months in French oak barrels and then rests for at least six months in bottle.

Tasting notes

Like a string concert, the wine settles in the glass with a luminous, flowing, golden color. Its movement is agile yet compact and harmonious, carrying the entire body with it. The nose alternates between the sweetness of yellow summer fruits, peeled and aired Golden Delicious apples, and pear juice. Notes of toast and acacia wood smoke alternate with those of dried pale orange, mature distillate, and fresh, potted aromatic herbs. The palate is led by a refreshing, dynamic freshness, constantly jostling for space and pervading as much as possible. A slight astringency on the finish leaves the mouth dry and clean, while the nose continues to sting, recalling fruit and soft caresses.

Cellar

When the family purchased about 42 hectares of land in the 1950s, the vineyard and olive trees populated the hillside, creating a rhythmic and contoured landscape.
For years they have been supplying quality grapes to other wineries.
In the mid-2000s, with the entry of Enrico's son into the company, the decision was made to vinify part of the varieties produced.
Thus was born what today represents a symbol of the Orvieto region: a company focused on quality and the exaltation of local varieties, present in Umbria for millennia.
