Ours is a story that starts a long time ago, when time was marked by the succession of the seasons, and the farmers of the Alghero countryside had nothing but the land and their ingenuity.
It's a story about the ability to trust one another, about the desire to build something great, without ever forgetting the beauty and value hidden in our surroundings: endless plains overlooking the sea, nestled in an inlet between the Gulf of Alghero and the Bay of Porto Conte. Fortunate lands, caressed by the wind and warmed by the sun.
It's a story that recounts the precious lessons of daily hard work and dedication. This story, our story, begins a long time ago and continues to this day.
It all began in 1946, on the Nurra lands, reclaimed and handed over to farmers following the post-war agrarian reform in Sardinia. Expert and courageous hands, capable of capturing the soul of a land seemingly made for wine, led one hundred of them to become partners and, together, found the Santa Maria la Palma winery. It was 1959.
Today, past and future meet, living naturally within each other, in every new technology and every project undertaken by the winery, born of a tradition that has always combined innovation and love for its land. 700 hectares of land, harnessed to create the diverse and profound nuances of Sardinian wine, with the same passion and dedication to the work of the past, combined with today's cutting-edge technologies.
The pursuit of quality is the common thread running through this story: selecting methods and techniques to obtain the finest grapes, maximizing the value of our land, protecting it, to live up to our customers' expectations every day, to those who started the winery's journey and those who will continue it.
