It was with total respect for the land, nature, ecosystem, and biodiversity, and with an eye to the region's potential, that the Terenzi winery was founded at the beginning of the 21st century, in 2001 to be precise. This agricultural enterprise has, in just a few years, reshaped the perception of the Tuscan Maremma and its finest wines, significantly contributing to increasing the prestige of the already renowned Morellino di Scansano appellation.
Terenzi is a particularly charming winemaking enterprise, boasting a total estate of 150 hectares, of which approximately sixty are vineyards, and another 14 are planted with splendid centuries-old olive trees that produce a remarkable extra virgin olive oil.
Completing the picture is the modern cellar, which, with its 3,000 square meters of functional and perfectly organized space, represents the beating heart of the company, as well as being built in perfect harmony with the landscape.
It is in this context that all the typical local varieties are grown, from Vermentino to Viognier, from Syrah to Merlot. However, Sangiovese, planted in two different clones, is the undisputed star among the rows, capable of offering a unique expression of the highest quality.
Starting with careful and rational choices in the vineyard, in the cellar every production step is rigorously and meticulously monitored, each carried out with the utmost respect for the raw material and thus enhancing everything that the season and the terroir have been able to "speak" in the grapes.
Thus, from whites to reds, a truly interesting range of labels comes to life, with Morellino di Scansano in particular leading the production: from the simplest, most vintage, to the profound and long-lived “Madrechiesa”, elegant like perhaps no other in the area, all the wines labeled “Terenzi” speak the language of the utmost winemaking excellence of the Maremma and Scansano.
