Description

Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the Montecchio estate vineyards, just a few kilometers from Orvieto. The vines enjoy exceptional sun exposure and clay-rich soil. Less than twenty years after its first release, this wine has consistently won accolades for its excellent value, making it an even more popular choice on our tables.

Tasting notes

A bright ruby red in color, it reveals pleasant aromas of cherries in alcohol, aromatic herbs, cocoa powder, and hints of iron. The palate is warm and smooth, with present yet well-balanced tannins, thanks in part to the brief aging in oak barrels, and a lingering finish with hints of almond.

Cellar

Brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella founded the Falesco Winery in Montefiascone, in Upper Lazio, with the aim of recovering the area's ancient vines.

After many years of experimentation and research on the Roscetto variety, production of Poggio dei Gelsi began: a selection of EST! EST!! EST!!! that has restored prestige to an unjustly forgotten territory and wine.

Falesco enriches its assets with the acquisition of the Marciliano farm, covering approximately 260 hectares, located on the stunning hillside south of Orvieto, in the municipalities of Montecchio and Baschi. These vineyards provide the grapes for the Marciliano wine, and the new winery was built on this site in Umbria.
