Description

Rosso di Montalcino shares the same characteristics as Brunello, but in a more youthful and relaxed version. It's made from the same Sangiovese grapes, grown on younger vineyards, which yield fragrant and elegant wines, less tannic and full-bodied than Brunello.
Rosso di Montalcino is the ideal wine for less demanding occasions and for those who want to enjoy the pleasure of a good glass every day.

Cellar

Fattoria dei Barbi extends over 306 hectares between Montalcino and Scansano. Today, Stefano Cinelli Colombini, heir to the ancient Sienese lineage present in Montalcino since 1352, manages the family property. The Barbi winery has been open to the public for over 50 years and currently produces approximately 800,000 bottles, including more than 200,000 Brunello wines. The 66 hectares of vineyards have an average density of approximately 5,000 plants, and each plant yields just over one bottle of wine. The winery houses one of the largest collections of Brunello bottles, spanning from 1870 to the present day. Vivaio dei Barbi, the property purchased by Fattoria dei Barbi in 1997, is located in Scansano, about an hour and a half's drive from Montalcino. The 28-hectare vineyard produces a Morellino di Scansano DOCG obtained mainly from Sangiovese grapes.
