Description

There was a time when the Dal Ceros were from Verona.

Today, Igino, Gian Franco, and Anna Maria return to the eastern lands of Verona, the birthplace of their father Pietro, to whom this bottle is dedicated, to reiterate their history and savor the spirit of those places once again.
They do it with a wine that is an emblem of Veronese wine production in the world, Amarone.

Tasting notes

The ruby color captivates with its timbre and intensity. The fruit is exuberant, with a delightful black cherry that blends with notes of chocolate and sweet spices.
The subtlety elevates the floral component and the purple rose. Balsamic notes emerge more and more convincingly, with notes of star anise and wild mint.
The tertiary elements are subtle and allow pleasant notes of arabica and gentle tobacco to be perceived.

Cellar

The Ca' dei Frati winery has been known since 1782, as attested by a document that refers to "a house with a cellar located in Lugana in the Sermion area, known as the place of the Friars." In 1939, Felice Dal Cero, son of Domenico, a winemaker in Montecchia di Crosara, near Verona, moved to that house in Lugana di Sirmione, immediately recognizing the area's outstanding winemaking potential. After thirty years of working in the vineyard and cellar, in 1969, his son Pietro contributed to the birth of the DOC, bottling his first label of Lugana Casa dei Frati, later known as Ca' dei Frati. In 2012, Pietro Dal Cero passed away, leaving his cultural legacy to his wife Santa Rosa and his children Igino, Gian Franco, and Anna Maria, who manage the winery with the same passion and determination.

The grapes from each vineyard are vinified separately to gain a clearer understanding of the expressions of our terroir. Processing is carried out with the utmost respect for the raw material, using an innovative technique refined over the years that allows us to produce wines with integrity and longevity. Our close relationship and ongoing dialogue with our friend Gino Veronelli have helped us create wines that stand the test of time.

Our wines are born from careful observation of the terroir and the vine's behavior, a practice that has spanned four generations of winemakers. The journey of our wine begins with the awakening of the vine's growing cycle: for this reason, every day of the year plays a fundamental role and represents a crucial step towards achieving our goal.
