Description

The grapes, harvested separately by variety, were destemmed and gently pressed. They were then transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 28°C to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Maceration, which lasted 10 days, was carefully managed, with interventions aimed at enhancing the structure, extracting only the sweetest tannins. The resulting wine was transferred to large barrels, where malolactic fermentation took place. From the spring following harvest, the wine began its maturation process, lasting approximately 12 months. After bottling, the wine underwent a further aging period of approximately one year.

Tasting notes

The wine is ruby red in color. The nose reveals pleasant aromas of red fruit such as strawberry and cherry, alternating with delicate spicy sensations and sweet notes of vanilla. On the palate, the soft entry is supported by lively tannins and a good savory finish, which leads to a persistent finish characterized by excellent freshness.

Cellar

La Braccesca extends over 508 hectares where the ancient farm of the Bracci counts once stood, hence the estate's name and its coat of arms: an arm covered in armor holding a sword. Since 1990, the estate has been owned by the Marchesi Antinori family. The total vineyard area is 340 hectares, divided into two parcels: the first, 366 hectares, of which 237 are planted with vines, is located on the border between the municipalities of Montepulciano and Cortona. The other parcel, 142 hectares, of which 103 are planted with vines, extends all the way to Montepulciano, encompassing three of the most renowned subzones for the production of fine red wines: Cervognano, Santa Pia, and Gracciano.
