Description

An undisputed symbol of the Speri family, Amarone Sant'Urbano is an excellent example of finesse and classicism. An extraordinary wine of great complexity and vigorous structure, it has always been at the forefront of elegance and quality.
Manual selection of the best bunches and subsequent drying for approximately 100 days, with a weight loss of approximately 40%. Subsequent pressing and long fermentation with maceration.
Aged for 24 months in 500-liter French oak tonneaux, followed by 18 months in medium-large Slavonian oak barrels. Aged in bottle for 12 months.

Tasting notes

A deep garnet red in color, it has an ethereal aroma of dried fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied, warm, enveloping, and dry. A powerful wine of rare elegance, it lends itself well to aging.

Cellar

Among the most historic families in Valpolicella, the Speri winery is an authoritative and faithful interpreter of Valpolicella Classica wines, having become, due to its continuity and strong roots in the region, a benchmark in Italian winemaking. The company's history dates back to the first half of the 19th century, and today the Speri family, now in its seventh generation, manages approximately 60 hectares of vineyards in the most suitable areas of Valpolicella Classica.

The company's strength has always been, and still is, teamwork, which today sees three generations—Carlo, Alberto, Giampaolo, Giampietro, Laura, Chiara, Luca, and Giuseppe—engaged in managing all phases of production, from the vineyard to the bottle.

After years of sustainable agriculture, the company obtained organic certification for all its production in 2015.

Respecting the local heritage, the Speri family has always cultivated only native Valpolicella grape varieties (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, and other indigenous varieties), vinifying exclusively grapes from their own vineyards, and overseeing the entire production process.
