Whiskey Wilson & Morgan Linkwood 2011 Quercus Alba Cl 70 Case

From the long collaboration with our importer
Hungarian, we got some barrels
superlatives that had been used previously
to age the very sweet Patricius wine
Tokaj. What better pairing than with a
fruity and floral Speyside whisky? After a
finish of two years in these precious barrels, we are
satisfied with the result. As expected, it is very
succulent: on the nose it offers lots of sultanas,
dates, apricots and peaches, while maintaining a
citrus character that avoids excess sweetness. It is
quite waxy and hypermature,
However, these traits are also found on the palate.
While not betraying the character of Speyside, it has
a decidedly honeyed touch, again with
a balanced influence of fruit salad notes and
candied citrus fruits. The high acidity of the wine prevents
the cloyingness, and therefore remains very appetizing
and peppery.
