Description

Jacquesson's Extra Brut Cuvée is one of those Champagnes that evoke emotion and wonderful sensations, concealing a story of passion and dedication, a true life choice. Jean-Hervé and Laurent, the two Jacquesson brothers, have truly revolutionized the concept of Brut Sans Année, bringing it much more into line with the concept of terroir, cultivation method, and winemaking, bringing the natural diversity of the various vintages into the glass.

A system of assigning a number to each cuvée, born with the 2000 harvest and with Cuvée 728, which immediately made this Champagne unique. Their "7" series uses not only the reserve wines of each vintage, but also the blend of previous cuvées; we are therefore faced with a true multi-vintage. A Champagne born from a small revolution, from a philosophy that takes wine as a reference for the vintage, a mirror of its climatic trends. This philosophy is perfectly expressed on the back of the label, where each year we find the percentage of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier used, as well as the different ratios between vintage and reserve wines.

It comes from vineyards partly in Dizy, such as Corne Bautray and Terres Rouges, and partly in Avize and Ay, and offers splendid notes of yellow fruit, with a light minerality on the finish that supports the dense texture and evokes the freshness of freshly cut citron. A rounded and refined palate makes Jacquesson's Champagne Extra Brut Cuvée elegant, supple, and extremely pleasant.

Tasting notes

Straw yellow in appearance with lively reflections and a particular luminosity.
On the nose, subtle and elegant notes of exotic fruit blend together with sweet aromas of lemon balm and orange blossom.
Fresh, savoury and vibrant on the palate.

Cellar

Jean Chiquet purchased the Maison Jacquesson, founded in 1798, in 1974, and his two sons, Laurent and Jean-Hervé, now run this prestigious house. Indeed, Jacquesson was Napoleon I's favorite Champagne. Furthermore, it was Adolphe Jacquesson who invented the metal muselet and the small metal plate placed on top to prevent the muselet from sinking into the cork.

Laurent and Jean-Hervé Chiquet also manage their 28 hectares of vineyards located in the Grand Cru villages of Aÿ, Oiry, and Avize, and the Premier Cru villages of Dizy and Hautvillers. Their vineyard supplies are also supplemented by purchases from Grand Crus and Premier Crus. Jacquesson champagnes are therefore exclusively Premier and/or Grand Crus Champagnes, a testament to this House's commitment to maintaining the highest quality.
