VINTAGE 2007
DENOMINATION Trento Doc
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Chardonnay

TYPE Classic Method Sparkling Wine Extra Brut Riserva
PAIRINGS: Raw Fish, Fish-based First Courses, White Meats
The 2007 Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore is one of the most extraordinary examples of Italian Metodo Classico, a true icon of Italian winemaking, born from founder Giulio Ferrari's dream: to create a sparkling wine in Trentino capable of competing with the finest Champagnes. Produced exclusively in the finest vintages, this sparkling wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in carefully selected, high-altitude mountain vineyards on the hills surrounding Trento. The 2007 vintage, in particular, is the fruit of an exceptional harvest, favored by a balanced climate that allowed for perfect ripening of the grapes, giving the wine structure, elegance, and longevity.
After meticulous vinification, the Giulio Ferrari 2007 rested on its lees for over ten years, a very slow refinement that gave the wine an extraordinary aromatic complexity and an extremely fine, creamy, and persistent perlage.
It displays a luminous straw yellow with golden highlights, animated by a fine, continuous bubble that announces its great finesse at first glance. The nose opens with ample and enveloping notes of ripe yellow fruit, candied citrus peel, honey, and dried fruit, complemented by refined tertiary aromas of pastry, vanilla, sweet spices, and light, almost iodine-like mineral notes, a testament to its long evolution in the bottle.
On the palate, it impresses with its balance and depth: the entry is vibrant, with surprising freshness for a wine of this age, well-balanced by a creamy and enveloping structure. The body is firm yet elegant, with a fine texture that develops with harmony and precision. The finish is very long and savory, with hints of ripe tropical fruit, toasted hazelnut, and brioche, which linger for a long time, leaving the palate clean and satisfied. The Extra Brut dosage enhances the purity of the Chardonnay and highlights the minerality of the Trentino terroir, allowing every nuance to emerge clearly.
THE DREAM
1902
The Ferrari legend was born from one man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine in Trentino capable of competing with the best French Champagnes.
He was a pioneer: he was the first to understand the extraordinary potential of his land, he was the first to spread Chardonnay in Italy.
He began producing a few, very select bottles, with an obsessive focus on quality.
THE EVOLUTION
1952
Having no children, Giulio Ferrari seeks a successor to whom he can entrust his dream.
Among many applicants, he chose Bruno Lunelli, owner of a wine shop in Trento. Thanks to his passion and entrepreneurial talent, Bruno Lunelli managed to increase production without ever compromising on quality.
FAMILY TRADITION
'70 - '00
Bruno Lunelli passes on his passion to his sons: under the guidance of Franco, Gino and Mauro, Ferrari becomes the leader in Italy
and the quintessential Italian toast. These years saw the birth of some of the labels destined to go down in history: the Ferrari Rosé, the Ferrari Perlé, and the Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore.
