Description

A wine that enhances the pleasant fragrance of pure Sangiovese, a historic Montalcino grape variety. The vineyards, located on calcareous-clay soils, produce a fresh, minerally, and highly drinkable Rosso di Montalcino.
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were destemmed, gently pressed, and transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 25°C, lasting approximately 8-10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine began its aging period, which lasted approximately 10 months.

Tasting notes

Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino DOC has a vibrant ruby red color. On the nose, notes of small red fruits, such as currants and raspberries, combine with floral nuances of wild rose and lavender, and hints of candied citron.
On the palate it is fragrant, with lively tannins that accompany a long, vibrant and savory finish.

Cellar

Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 km southwest of Montalcino, takes its name from the town of the same name, home to a characteristic 19th-century railway station. The estate comprises 184 hectares, 65 of which are planted with vineyards, with a primarily southwest exposure, at an altitude of approximately 130 meters above sea level.

Pian delle Vigne represents Marchesi Antinori's profound and personal interpretation of the prestigious and traditional Brunello wine. The winery has been owned by the Antinori family since 1995, the year of the first Pian delle Vigne Brunello harvest.
