Description

This wine is produced in France's most prestigious region, the Medoc, using primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages for 14-18 months in barrique before bottling. This wine boasts aromas of ripe red fruit, cocoa, and notes of licorice. On the palate, it is soft, velvety, rounded, fine, long, and persistent. Excellent paired with aged cheeses.

Tasting notes

A beautiful purple red with violet reflections.
On the nose, intense and complex, the aromas are dominated by fresh fruit (blackcurrant, black cherry) mixed with subtle woody notes. A fresh, minty note develops, accompanied by a hint of licorice.
On the palate, it's direct and rounded. It's followed by a rich, serious palate, with dense, velvety tannins, accompanied by a balanced natural acidity that gives this wine a lovely freshness.

Cellar

1853 marked the beginning of the Rothschild family's long and intense passion for wine, when James purchased Château Mouton Brane in Pauillac, Gironde. A century later, Edmond, one of the dynasty's most brilliant and innovative descendants, purchased two new "Crus Bourgeois" vineyards, Château Clarke and Château Malmaison, founding the Baron Edmond De Rothschild Wine Company, with numerous branches around the world and known for the absolute excellence of its wines. Listrac-Médoc Château Clarke is produced from vineyards located within the prestigious French wine region of Médoc, in the greater Bordeaux area. It is produced primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested and selected exclusively by hand. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels, and aging in barriques lasts 14 to 18 months. Characterized by a ruby red color, this Listrac-Médoc is round, delicate but intense on the palate, with a long persistence.
