Tasting notes

Ruby red in appearance with excellent intensity, almost opaque.
On the nose, overripe but still crisp and pulpy red fruit. Spicy notes, especially pepper and cloves, appear in the background, followed by mineral notes and a deep nuance of tobacco.
On the palate, it's full-bodied, enveloping, and velvety. The imposing, solid body maintains an elegant, silky profile thanks to the perfectly balanced acidity and sweet, perfectly blended tannins.

Cellar

The Allegrini family has been dedicated to winemaking for over four hundred years, playing a significant role in the development of Valpolicella and helping to make it a privileged cradle of great reds.

Today, the Allegrini brand encompasses a consolidated group of four estates spread across Veneto and Tuscany, covering a total area of approximately 240 hectares. But it was in Fumane di Valpolicella that Allegrini found its roots: here, in 1854, the farm was founded, and over the decades, generations of the family have managed it. However, it was with Giovanni that the turning point came: he resolutely focused on the pursuit of quality, leveraging the immense winemaking and viticultural potential of his land. In 1983, he was succeeded by his three children: Franco, the enologist; Marilisa, the sales manager; and Walter, who was in charge of the vineyards. Walter passed away prematurely, leaving the reins to his daughter Silvia.

Allegrini's properties extend over approximately 100 hectares in the Valpolicella Classica area: from here, prestigious crus such as La Grola, Palazzo della Torre and La Poja are born, and from here, Amarone, the prince of great Italian reds, begins its journey into the world.

Corte Giara is a brand founded in 1989 to meet the need to expand the range of available products, also introducing international varieties for a line of young wines, ready to drink in various convivial contexts and more accessible for consumers.

Extremely high quality and a strong presence on foreign markets have allowed Allegrini to become one of the most appreciated Italian wineries in the world over the last few decades, consistently at the top of the wine magazine rankings, including the most famous one, Wine Spectator.
