Description

The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from Le Macioche winery is produced from hand-picked Sangiovese grapes from the estate's vineyards near the estate. CiCi is located south of Montalcino, 450 meters above sea level, where the Sangiovese grapes benefit from significant temperature variations and are rooted in galestro-rich soils. After careful selection of the bunches, fermentation takes place in stainless steel and is followed by 30 months of maturation in large oak barrels, respecting tradition. A powerful yet refined Brunello, it conveys the essence of one of the finest recent vintages to the glass.

Tasting notes

A concentrated and luminous ruby red. The nose offers hints of dried wild plum and dried cherry. It has earthy notes, fresh juniper undergrowth, dried flowers, and white musk.
On the palate, it reveals evolutionary potential thanks to elegant, silky, and flavorful tannins. Clean, deep, and savory with a very long finish. Unmistakable and unparalleled in tone and sincerity.

Cellar

Brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella founded the Falesco Winery in Montefiascone, in Upper Lazio, with the aim of recovering the area's ancient vines.

After many years of experimentation and research on the Roscetto variety, production of Poggio dei Gelsi began: a selection of EST! EST!! EST!!! that has restored prestige to an unjustly forgotten territory and wine.

Falesco enriches its assets with the acquisition of the Marciliano farm, covering approximately 260 hectares, located on the stunning hillside south of Orvieto, in the municipalities of Montecchio and Baschi. These vineyards provide the grapes for the Marciliano wine, and the new winery was built on this site in Umbria.
