Description

Roscetto is a native Lazio grape variety, concentrated exclusively in the municipality of Montefiascone and the hilly areas adjacent to Lake Bolsena. It takes its name from the color of its skin, which changes from green to yellow, then yellow to pink as it ripens. According to DNA studies conducted by Professor Attilio Scienza, it derives from the Greco grape family.

Tasting notes

On the nose, it presents sensations reminiscent of exotic fruit, while the palate is full-bodied and creamy. It's a smooth and harmonious wine that finishes with typical honey sensations.

Cellar

Brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella founded the Falesco Winery in Montefiascone, in Upper Lazio, with the aim of recovering the area's ancient vines.

After many years of experimentation and research on the Roscetto variety, production of Poggio dei Gelsi began: a selection of EST! EST!! EST!!! that has restored prestige to an unjustly forgotten territory and wine.

Falesco enriches its assets with the acquisition of the Marciliano farm, covering approximately 260 hectares, located on the stunning hillside south of Orvieto, in the municipalities of Montecchio and Baschi. These vineyards provide the grapes for the Marciliano wine, and the new winery was built on this site in Umbria.
