Description

This Cerasuolo is grown in the municipalities of Vasto, Monteodorisio and Casalbordino, on land exposed to the south-east, south-west and south, at medium hilly altitudes (between 30 and ~200 metres above sea level).
The winemaking process follows a controlled method: manual harvesting; fermentation without the skins at a controlled temperature (around 16°C) to preserve the most delicate aromas; and aging for months in stainless steel and then in the bottle to ensure purity and expressiveness.
While primarily a wine for the present, it has a femininity that allows it to evolve well for a couple of years if carefully stored. This Cerasuolo embodies the grace and simplicity of Abruzzo as a wine, capable of communicating immediately, yet not fading away in the glass.

Tasting notes

When you pour a glass of Jasci & Marchesani's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, you're immediately struck by its color: a vivid, clear cherry red, with reflections that evoke the freshness of the purest fruit. It's a wine that smells of the Abruzzo summer: fresh red fruits, cherries, strawberries, and, in the background, a delicate hint of the woods, a vinous echo that makes the nose welcoming and full.
On the palate, Cerasuolo reveals its harmonious nature: dry yet smooth, with a lovely freshness that invites another sip. The fruity note remains the protagonist, supported by a savory character that balances and illuminates the wine, making it not only enjoyable but also versatile. The finish is gentle, leaving a fruity trail with a finish that suggests bitter almond, like a subtle final caress that invites reflection.

Cellar

Jasci & Marchesani have been dedicated to organic winemaking since 1960, even anticipating the very concept of sustainable practices. They achieved official certification in 1978, becoming one of the first Italian wineries to do so. Currently, the company's vineyards span 33 hectares, owned by the company, and another 7 hectares, shared-cropped. The oldest vineyard dates back to 1973, allowing them to grow all the grapes themselves, then vinified in the winery, which operates with renewable energy. Each vineyard produces a different product; those cultivated in the Sinello Valley produce saline and savory white wines, while the clayey soil of the hills of the central Vasto area, thanks to its exposure and temperature range, produces a unique and sought-after Montepulciano, such as Janù.
