Description

It is a white wine born between the vineyards of Monteodorisio and Casalbordino, with a south-east / north-east exposure, at low altitude, in soils that combine the proximity of the sea with the mitigating action of coastal breezes, elements that give the wine finesse and delicate saline notes.

This Riesling is crafted with care: organically grown, hand-picked, and vinified without skins at a controlled temperature of approximately 16°C. It ages for six months in steel and bottle to preserve its aromatic purity and enhance the grapes' natural freshness.

Tasting notes

When you pour Jasci & Marchesani's Riesling, you are greeted by a pale, luminous, almost ethereal straw yellow color, which anticipates sensations of great clarity and freshness.
Elegant aromas unfold on the nose: yellow-fleshed fruit, ripe peach, apple, and hints of citrus, complemented by fragrant mineral notes reminiscent of damp stone and occasionally subtle earthy nuances. It's a profile that doesn't shout out, but rather gradually gains traction, leaving room for complexity.
On the palate, it's dry but not harsh: smooth in feel, with a balance of acidity, savory flavor, and body. The sip is clean and harmonious, with surprising depth: a long, slightly bitter finish that invites a second glass.

Cellar

Jasci & Marchesani have been dedicated to organic winemaking since 1960, even anticipating the very concept of sustainable practices. They achieved official certification in 1978, becoming one of the first Italian wineries to do so. Currently, the company's vineyards span 33 hectares, owned by the company, and another 7 hectares, shared-cropped. The oldest vineyard dates back to 1973, allowing them to grow all the grapes themselves, then vinified in the winery, which operates with renewable energy. Each vineyard produces a different product; those cultivated in the Sinello Valley produce saline and savory white wines, while the clayey soil of the hills of the central Vasto area, thanks to its exposure and temperature range, produces a unique and sought-after Montepulciano, such as Janù.
