Passion, courage, and faith in Puglia's enormous quality potential are what drove the Antinori family to invest in this region, particularly in the areas of Castel del Monte and Salento. The underlying idea behind Tormaresca's production philosophy is to produce great wines from native Apulian grape varieties. Most of the vineyards are planted with traditional grape varieties, some of which date back to the Magna Graecia civilization and are deeply rooted in the area: Primitivo, Negroamaro, Fiano Pugliese, Aglianico, Nero di Troia, and Moscato Reale.
The Tormaresca company consists of two estates located in the region's most traditional winemaking areas: Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in the Castel del Monte DOC, immersed in the wild Murgia Barese, and Masseria Maime in the Salento area, the beating heart of Puglia.
The Bocca di Lupo estate is located in the Minervino Murge countryside, in the Castel del Monte DOC area, approximately 250 meters above sea level. The proximity of the ancient Vulture volcano, the climate characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night, and the soil composition have a significant influence on the vineyards. The grape varieties grown include Aglianico, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano Pugliese, Nero di Troia, and Moscato Reale. Masseria Maime is located in one of the most beautiful areas of upper Salento. The estate, which extends over approximately 500 hectares, 350 of which are planted with vines and 85 with olive groves, extends along the Adriatic coast, creating a unique landscape of vineyards nestled among woods and pine forests, stretching as far as the eye can see until they merge with the sea.
